Independent Resident Liaison Advisor appointed to ensure Resident Voice on BQ Regeneration
Porters Place Southend-on-Sea LLP are pleased to announce that NewmanFrancis have recently been appointed as the Independent Resident Liaison Advisor for the Better Queensway Resident Steering Group.
The role of the Independent Resident Liaison Advisor is to support the Resident Steering Group by acting as an independent resource between the Resident Steering Group and the Better Queensway project team. NewmanFrancis will work in partnership with the Resident Steering Group to define a clear common vision, engage residents to ensure they are involved in local decision making and provide efficient communication to assist in the delivery of the Better Queensway regeneration project.
In partnership with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Swan Housing Association selected three Independent Resident Liaison Advisor’s with brilliant portfolios for delivering the advisor role and after a tender process, all three companies were interviewed by Swan’s Project Director, Head of Resident Involvement and Community Activation Officer. Two companies were then shortlisted and asked to present to the Steering Group.
The Steering Group had many questions and after 24 hours and a team discussion, each member of the Resident Steering Group privately voted for their preferred Resident Liaison Advisor. The votes came in and it was a draw.
In this situation and in the interest of the Queensway residents, it was agreed that the Porters Place LLP Project Director, Swan’s Head of Resident Involvement and the project’s Community Activation Officer would make the final decision. Based on the previous interview and proposals, all unanimously voted for NewmanFrancis to be appointed.
The Resident Steering Group have been informed and are looking forward to partnering with NewmanFrancis to help deliver a Better Queensway!
